As many of you will know Connecting Cheshire have been working to install fibre optic broadband across Cheshire. Chelford and Lower Peover’s telephone exchanges have been enabled and so far a total of four green boxes have been enabled which cover 400 homes. Both exchanges have further green boxes to be connected and these it is hoped will be connected by early 2015. But some road works may be needed as new cables need to be laid.
You can check if your property has been upgraded by visiting Connecting Cheshire’s Check Availability.
If your property has been enabled then you will need to contact your current broadband provider and ask to be connected to fibre broadband. Please note that the cost of doing so should be the same or less that you are currently paying for broadband.
The Parish Council are also hoping to hold some ‘How To’ events to assist residents with making the most of the broadband service in the new year.
