Dear all,
I am writing to inform you that Peover Superior Primary School has secured substantial funding from the Education Funding Agency’s Condition Improvement Fund for two major building projects.
The first project has begun and involves replacing all the flat roofs, doors, windows, facia boards and drainpipes. The work is expected to take approximately 3 months.
The contractors are based in a self-contained unit on the school site; it is anticipated there will be minimal disruption to school and the local community. However, there may be general noise during the day and additional vehicles parked outside school.
The second project will involve removal of the old oil fired heating system and replacement with a state of the art, efficient gas builder and radiators. We currently have no gas in school so this will mean extending the gas main from the road outside school.
Below are the commencement of works for the National Grid gas mains installation to the front of the school. (The gas main is currently situated in the middle of the road in Stocks Lane).
Works will commence on Wednesday 2nd December
Gas works will be completed on Friday 4th December
Reinstatement works and final completion will take place on Thursday 10th December
The works will be managed directly by National Grid and will involve some disruption outside the front of school; there may also be road closures/temporary traffic lights as part of the installation.
I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and have asked parents to be extra vigilant with safe parking and movement around school. We are currently short of parking space on our own car park due to additional vehicles and equipment from contractors and have asked that parents are considerate when parking on the sides of the road and around the Cricket Club.
I apologise in advance for any disruption or inconvenience these work may have over the next few months; but hope you will join with us in celebrating that the importance of these works in ensuring the long term future of the school.
Yours sincerely
Mrs L Hesmondhalgh
Principal
