Please see extract of an email from Cheshire East regarding Remembrance Sunday services:
I wrote to you on 1st October providing some information on Remembrance Sunday, which is now just over three weeks away. As you will be aware earlier in the week Cheshire East was placed in Tier Two – The High Alert level of the new three tier alert system. Under the Regulations no person may participate in an outdoor gathering which consists of more than six people. However, we have been advised that the Regulations do specifically allow for larger events to be held on Remembrance Sunday (8th November). Whilst such events will be permitted there are strict rules which must be observed.
Attendance at events is limited to:
- Persons there as part of their work,
- Persons providing voluntary services in connection with the event,
- Members of the armed forces,
- Veterans of the armed forces or their representatives or carers, or
- Spectators who participate in the gathering alone or as a member of a qualifying group.
In addition, those organising the event must undertake a comprehensive risk assessment and take all reasonable measures to limit the risk of transmission of Coronavirus. This would include provision for social distancing, high hygiene standards and encouraging participants to wear face coverings.
The full text of the relevant Regulations (The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Local COVID-19 Alert Level) (High) (England) Regulations 2020 (also known as the Tier 2 Regulations), can be found online at:

Please don’t hesitate to get back to me if you need any additional information.
With best wishes.
